Trees make me happy

treeposterup11

Remember my post from a couple of weeks ago about the poster I made at the kiosk at Costco? If you missed it, here’s the link to it. Well, for Christmas my mom had it matted and framed for me. I couldn’t wait to take it home and hang it over the piano. It will offer me constant inspiration and happiness. I LOVE trees. I also took the photo while on a relaxing hike with my mom on the Rattlesnake Ridge trail. Great memories as well as the peace and contentment trees provide for me :)

Here is our puppy, Gus after opening his dog bowl gift from CVS photo center. He’s probably thinking that he’ll never grow into it. It’s much bigger than I thought! He’ll never run out of food this way :)

Here’s a quick video of my daughter helping him open it…

It sure is fun to look through all of the digital scrapbook designs from Sam’s Club Photo center…beautiful choices. This was my favorite but it took me awhile to decide because there were so many I liked!

Serious Art Therapy with Plastic Recycled Bottlecap Art

by on December 16, 2009
in Reviews/giveaways

Not only do I put recycled bling in these cool new designs but I’m about to make a series with photos of my Dad’s 7 grandkids for him for his birthday tomorrow… Look for monthly ReCaptivation giveaways where you’ll be able to send a photo for me to put in my recycled bottlecap art.

Oh…and if you want to win a bottlecap pendant, a head hug (knitted hat) or a ZoomAlbum Kit, check out Meylah. They did a feature on me on Sunday in their Twelve Days of Christmas series

Extra inspiration from Chris Jordan’s photography of the baby albatross skeletons on Midway Island. I’m working on helping to build awareness of our plastic consumption.

The coolest holiday gift tags I’ve ever seen!

I’m not usually into gift tags or gift cards for that matter. A sharpie directly on the wrapping paper is my primitive habit. None of the tags I’ve seen have caught my attention enough to do any differently until I came across these on the Walmart Photo Centre site.

Now, my kids will be able to identify their gifts right away because their photos will be on them…SO COOL!

Here are some of the other tag designs

Trees are uplifting and inspiring.

I’ve been in a serious funk lately, not that I’m surprised given that this is the first holiday season since my divorce and I struggle more this time of the year anyway. I love taking nature shots and some of my favorites are of trees. I decided to try to fill some of my walls with photos I’ve taken of nature that I find inspiring. I tagged along with my friend on a Costco run earlier this week and happened to have my camera with me so I decided to start my collection and was so happily surprised with the results! I made a 20×30 poster of the above photo, picked it up after we were done shopping (less than 1 hour) and it is AMAZING! The quality surpasses my expectations and it was only $9.84. SERIOUSLY! I’m going to frame it with one of the cool wood frames I picked up at the thrift store and voila…an uplifting and inspiring picture to wake up looking at that I took on one of my favorite hikes. Check out how easy it was to make…

Special gift for a true friend

I have this photo of my best friend and me when we were in Leavenworth for a “girls weekend.” I love this pic! We are relaxed, wearing cowboy hats with our bottlecap hat bands and the mountains in the background. I decided that I wanted to make something special for her that I can add to the basket of goodies I’m giving her for Christmas. So I logged onto my Costco account, uploaded the photo and found the perfect gift to put it on AND it’s only $7.99!
